METÃSTASE AMIGDALINA: UM CASO RARO

Resumen

Os tumores das amígdalas palatinas são raros e normalmente primários, sendo que a maioria tem origem epitelial ou linfoproliferativa (95%). As metástases amigdalinas são responsáveis por apenas 0,8% dos tumores amigdalinos e até ao momento, existe registo de aproximadamente 100 casos reportados . Descreve-se o caso de uma doente de 68 anos referenciada ao Serviço de Urgência de Otorrinolaringologia por lesão ulcerada na amígdala palatina esquerda.  A biópsia da lesão revelou metástase de carcinoma da mama. A neoplasia primária tinha sido diagnosticada 3 anos antes.  A metastização amigdalina é rara e normalmente surge  numa fase avançada da doença primária, associando-se a um prognóstico reservado.
